What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is the principle strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The needs of Olympic athletes and everyday people differ by degree not kind. Thousands of athletes worldwide have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

CrossFit's First Fitness Standard

There are ten recognized general fitness skills - cardiovascular, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. You are as fit as you are competent in each of these ten skills.

CrossFit's Second Fitness Standard

Fitness is about performing well at any and every task imaginable, specializing in not specializing. The implication here is that fitness requires an ability to perform well at all tasks even unfamiliar tasks, that are in infinitely varied combinations and unforeseen challenges.

CrossFit's Third Fitness Standard

There are three metabolic pathways that provide energy for all human action - phosphagen pathway, glycolytic pathway, and oxidative pathway. Total fitness requires competency and training in each of these three pathways.
